Day One of 2012 Short Course Far Westerns

I am in Morgan Hills for a swim meet called Far Westerns. This is a large and fast age group (10 and unders, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16 and 17-18 year olds) swim meet. There are swimmers from Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Hawaii, New Mexico and also Canada.
In the 11-12 girls Brylie Brophy swam a 200 yard Breaststroke in 2:37.12 to set a team record, breaking the time set by Meghan Lord in 03/2001, 2:38.99.
Natalie Bowman continues her amazing come back by bettering the 2:00 minute barrier in the 200 yard freestyle with a 1:59.99
Mary Griffith swam the 17-18 girls 200 freestyle in a 1:52.22 to win the event.
David Ring swam the 17-18 boys 200 freestyle in a 1:45.95 for 4th place in that event.
Miranda Padilla swam the 100 yard butterfly in 1:05.47 for 34th place and right on her personal best time.

Day Two Far Westerns, Morgan Hills

On the second day of Far Westerns, swimmers represented Lodi in both trials and finals, lead by seniors Mary Griffith and David Ring. Griffith won the 100 butterfly with a 56.85 and placed a strong second in the 100 freestyle (52.02). Ring finished sixth in the men's 100 freestyle swimming a 48.34. Natalie Bowman continued to drop time post-surgery with a 54.39 in the 15-16 year-old 100 free. Competing in the 11-12 age groups were Brylee Brophy and Miranda Padilla. Brophy posted a new personal best in her 100 free (58.46). Padilla improved her 50 butterfly (30.01), 200 individual medley (2:24.84), and 200 backstroke (2.24.42). Both Brophy and Padilla will compete at Far Western's through this weekend.
