Club History

In 1967 the Lodi Recreation and Parks Department was approached with the idea of forming an A.A.U. Swimming Team.  They agreed to sponsor a club and have lent continuing support over the past years.

An A.A.U. charter was obtained from the A.A.U. to establish a swim team under the name of Lodi City Swim Club.  It has since changed to Sierra Nevada of the United States Swimming (U.S.S.).  Lodi City Swim Club began with a membership of seven families and continues to grow in size and strength, building upon its reputation for team spirit and dedication among swimmers and parents alike.

Competitive swimming is one of the most rewarding of all sports from the

standpoint of physical and personal development.  The swimmer learns to

accept defeats and triumphs with good grace.  The swimmer will also

develop overall physical conditioning and endurance through participation

in the program.  Your swimmer will make many new friends locally,

Statewide, and Nationally

Beginning in 2007, the club became a nonprofit California corporation, and is operated independent of the Lodi Recreation and Parks Department.  Today, Lodi City Swim Club is a non-profit member club offering competitive swimming programs for the Novice though Olympic level athlete. We remain a part of USA Swimming, the governing body of our country's most successful Olympic sport. Our coaching staff is dedicated to the success and improvement of our team and each swimmer. Please read this handbook in its entirety, for it is an established fact that the positive influence of a swimmer's parent is essential for success.  We look forward to working with each swimmer and their family!
